Is there any raag that avoids pancham but also uses shuddha nishaad? Asking because I find it awkward to tune tanpura to madhyam and then play shuddha nishaad. It evokes a very strange and out-of-place scale.

So I now have 7 bansuris from D bass with the tiniest G top flute. I will expand this collection to at least 11 flutes to cover all notes.

I’m looking for flute-case suggestions. My preference is something elegant, minimal and formal instead of bulky. Any suggestions are welcome. TIA.

I have been listening to Ashwin Ji for a while. One thing that I’m perplexed about is the gayiki ang. In vocals we have something called aakaar gayan. I have found that it is different from using gamaks. It’s mostly shower taans which are like a softer version of gamaks. Is there any exercise for the same?

I’m growing my flute collection and aiming to have a complete flute-set one day. I don’t want to buy them all at once and would rather be excited about every new flute I get.

What all flutes are supposed to be there in a complete flute-set? I’d assume minimum 12 for all the 12 notes. But what about other octaves? TIA.

Please limit the use of this tool to western music. Western music uses Pythagorean tuning. Ancient music such as Hindustani and Carnatic use just-intonation / tuning so this tool will sound out of tune.
