Thank you Arjun ji, you have described my situation exactly. I am looking to rectify this by closing the thumb hole with tape which does not solve the problem as the thumb tends to rest again on the same deviated position over the tape, resulting in hissing, sharp/flat notes. So, I need to close the thumb hole with some other means and play without thumb hole or put it again properly!
